Midsummer’s Night Debutante

Each year at the Surf Club a group of selected girls make their debut into society. Each girl must give a party before the Grand Debutante Gala. My client’s daughter wanted her party to have the feel of “A Midsummer’s Night Dream”, that is why we selected The Rotunda at the Westin Colonnade in Coral Gables because of the feeling of an exterior yet inside. I used bright color flowers for the centerpieces mounted in gold rod iron stands. The tablecloths were heavy brocade in matte gold and ivory and to contrast white wood garden chairs. The lighting was very dramatic almost mysterious. There were garlands draping around the columns, lots of flowers dressing the central fountain and stars projected in the ceiling. It was quite dramatic but festive.
