IDB President’s Dinner The President for the International Development Bank hosted a Dinner for the Presidents and other Dignitaries attending the Annual Conference which took place in Miami. My first meeting was six months before the event at the Intercontinental Hotel, the chosen venue. I had to do more than six samples including two photo shoots at the Hotel with different ideas of table settings, colors, styles, materials, etc. I went through two food tastings, emails, phone calls and meetings. The final choice was a gold “peau de soie” tablecloth with blood red chargers, white napkins folded Presidential style and on top the menus, which were printed in “Old Miami” postcards. The china was white and special crystal was rented. The centerpieces were done in square and round glass vases lined with sheet moss and filled with mango mini calla lilies, leonides roses and deep red berries. The gold chivarri chairs had cushions matching the tablecloth. The perimeter of the room had large illuminated palms. In the long Foyer, where guests gathered for cocktails, there were high boy tables with gold tablecloths and matching centerpieces and in the three existing round tables five foot high glass vases with flowers broke the feeling of the long room.< Go Back |
